Wolverine to Release Winter Lager at December 21 Solstice Party

Christmas, for the most part, is all about the kids. You know, those short little creatures who are usually so credulous they'll believe anything lying adults tell them, like that some fat old dude in a red suit who lives at the North Pole (which is, like, ocean, man) flies through the air once a year in a magical sleigh and delivers free stuff to everyone around the world, all in one night. (Although to be fair, adults believe in some pretty absurd things, too, like Social Security.)

Anyway, it's nice whenever an occasion arises where you, the ostensible adult, can placate the little gremlins with nonsense while managing not only to avoid being bored to tears, but actually having a good time yourself.  Such an occasion is coming December 21, when Wolverine State Brewing hosts its Family Day and Winter Solstice Party at the tap room at 2019 W. Stadium.

For the kids: local children's entertainer Kevin Devine will conduct singalongs and other frippery while somebody dressed in a suit Santa himself visits. For the adults: Wolverine is releasing their brand-spanking-new Winter Lager, and you'll be among the first to try it. For everyone: free pizza from 5 p.m. until it's all gone! Who doesn't believe in free pizza?

Oh, there's also a canned food drive, along with an incentive to participate: Bring in two bags of nonperishable goods to donate to Food Gatherers and get half off a growler refill.

More about Kevin and the event ("It's like an old-fashioned neighborhood caroling party, except it's indoors and there's beer!" he says) from the official press release, below.
Wolverine State Brewing Company announces its 2nd annual Family Night Solstice Party and Holiday Singalong with Kevin Devine on Wednesday, December 21, from 5-7 p.m. with free pizza for all, treats for the kids, a visit from Santa, and a present for the adults from Wolverine: the official release of their new Winter Lager! What could be more fun than families and neighbors singing along to all the seasonal favorites in the comfort of Wolverine's tap room?

Kevin Devine is an award-winning, Ann Arbor-based children's entertainer and songwriter specializing in rollicking, participatory concerts. He always brings along a cavalcade of instruments and vast repertoire of singalongs and gets kids and parents alike to join him on the mic for music and unpredictable merriment. Kevin's concerts are full of audience participation, dancing, call-and-response songs, and musical mayhem for the whole family, grandparents, too!

In addition to his repertoire of traditional, pop, multicultural, and novelty tunes, Kevin has written more than 1,000 songs of his own for concerts, CDs, TV and film including shows like Barney and Friends, JAG, Judging Amy, The Young and the Restless, General Hospital, and NCIS.
